Are you sure? I have a K6-3 too and mine doesn't seem to support
3DNow! Ext. Isn't K6-3 just a K6-2 with on-die L2 cache?

And to what extend mplayer uses MMX2 features? PAVGB and PREFETCH have
already implemented (though with different opcodes, of course) in
3DNow!, so in this sense one may say a CPU with 3DNow! gives out some
MMX2 flavor.
