There is no room for option here. If a format was developed as Unix format
or DOS one then this format should be preserved. Forcing users
to do additional conversions is not a good solution. It is even
impossible if we have it on CD or DVD. Write another disc just
to see the subtitles is not my option.
You can always use mpsub which meets your expectations.
This is only one argument agains many. I will not change the patch.
So...your choice.
