BTW: we should kick those guys ass. This is exactly the
same behaviour that lead to the gcc two dot ninetysix fiasco
a few years ago.

BTW2: we should put a clear version nameing guideline into
DOCS/tech/binary-packaging.txt to avoid this in the future.
