Agreed.
FT_Glyph_Stroke first appears in 2.1.8rc1.
Where is the better place to check this ? Should ./configure print something 
like
"Checking for FreeType >= 2.1.8rc1 (for -vf ass) ... no"
, or better put a silent check somewhere in libsub ?
