I don't know how to answer this question.

I did the following:
Dump teststream audio using -dumpaudio, once with the additional first byte in
the bitstream, once without. Then remux the resulting data with MP4Box.
The file made with the stream dump with the additional first byte plays fine,
the other one only produces noise.
So in mp4, the additional first byte seems to be needed.

Is there another amr decoder?
Where should I look for the bitstream definition?
