If you can guarantee you'll always keep the size of incoming below some
given size I have nothing against that. However I still see no
justification for limiting the size of the disk partition. If you're
willing to do the sorting, are you really unable to do it unless there's
the threat of a hard partition size limit? And can you really guarantee
you WILL always do it no matter what the circumstances? If the samples
aren't getting sorted for whatever reason - and I think that is
something which is likely to happen sometimes - then letting them
accumulate is a lot better than the alternatives.
