Grigori,
Looking at the bitmap subtitles, they appear to be rendered inverted and
somewhat transparent, I think if the original bitmap was inverted and
then displayed on a black background (i.e. a black subtitle background
color) they would display almost perfectly.
Inverting the image above in gimp pretty much shows a 100% improvement
in quality.
Is it possible these subtitles should be rendered inverted by mplayer
but are not ?
