It causes issues with SMPlayer at least, and IMHO the method to suppress
those fake events is quite brittle too, which might cause further issues
with dvdnav mouse support, all of which seem likely to be obscure and
hard to debug problems.
Most importantly I think that already far too much time was spent
hacking each program individually to support all those screensavers and
fix the issues it causes.
While other developers are free to override me, my opinion stands: I
will refuse any and all additions to screensavers until at least _some_
effort has been made on the screensaver side - or at the very least a
very public promise has been made that the interface will be supported
(including debugging help) for at least many _years_.
