.. which is broken for my K6-III on gcc 4.3, BTW.  mmxext instructions
get enabled even though they are not supported ..

I haven't checked it closely, but I trust you it's correct.  Feel free
to apply such things directly, you probably have the best understanding
of the CPU detection code anyway.
