[MPlayer-dev-eng] Skipping an argument on the command line in mplayer

Hallo,

what is a "clean" way to skip an argument on the command line of mplayer?
For instance if I have

mplayer file1.avi file2.mpg file3.avi

which function should I call / which variable should I set to move directly
from e.g argv[1] == "file1.avi" to argv[3] == "file3.avi"?
