I think the fact that dvd:// is more by accident than by design.  If
you do something like [dvd://] you only get if for title 1.  If you do
something like [dvd:// dvd://1 dvd://2] then you get 1 twice.  I'm
hesitant to say that the dvd:// experience is a bug, but would not
argue if someone else said it was.
