Interesting, that actually sounds like it would expose the compressed
stream like that.
In that case it would be necessary to teach the dshow tv:// to handle
compressed data.
I am afraid this will need some skill, motivation and the right hardware
so your chances of someone fixing it (unless you intend to) might not be
as good as it might sound though :-)
A gdb backtrace of a version compiled with --extra-cflags="-g" --extra-ldflags="-g"
might help figuring out the crash though.
