Not bad. Of course, I'll proceed.

Perhaps, we should work out a specification defining the exact behaviour of all 
potmeters (both GTK and WIN); how they react on mouse events, how the item value 
is derived thereof, how the visible representation results from the item value; 
so that all matches, also a value set by the mouse or a value coming from other 
sources (e.g. video position). Then, we'd have an agreed base to review and 
rework coding.
