Why have you deleted distclean from .PHONY? It should be there.
Also I was thinking of adding targets like 'check-xml' and
'check-xml-lang', that would only run xmllint. Could be useful for
checking if the changes you've just added are at least valid. So one can
make checks more often and really build later. What do you think?
