Ok. I guess that for the purpose of coherency, I should explain why we
want to use a different container than AVI (ok, that's done) and MPEG
(?).

My first thought would be that when I was an MPlayer-newbie, I never
managed to mux an existent video file and a audio file into a single
file (and quite frankly, I still don't know how).

That's why I experimented with ogmtools, Avidemux, transcode and mkvtoolnix.
Somehow, the ones I liked the more, from a user point of view, were at
first ogmtools, and later on mkvtools when mkvtools became mature.
So, as I'm the one who is writing this doc (or the one who is merging
it), I write about what I know, which could be a good enough reason
for talking about Matroska only, but I guess we will still have some
users who'd like to do create standalone-players-compatible movie
files so one day or another, I'll have to document how to play around
with AVI and MPEG containers.

Ok, fixed on my tree.
