[Mplayer-users] asf success + question

A couple of days ago, I reported a problem for playing asf files.
Well, with the latest software and codecs, I am happy to report that 
everything now works.

Many sincere thanks to the developers.

I still have a problem playing a 16/9 avi file with 48KHz stereo sound, which 
takes about 30% of my CPU (a poor Cyrix MII PR200). Without sound the picture 
is smooth, but stalls with it.

Is there a way to make mplayer use a lower quality or mono sound?
