[Mplayer-users] clipping sound

I am using the mplayer CVS (from today) everything compiles fine, the
video runs very smoothly but the sound kinda putts along.  it kinda
sounds like t-t-t-ooo-o-o-dd-aa-y.  i would really like to fix this, it
has worked before, along while ago, but i am not sure when.

here are some specs:

amdk6-2 450mhz
192meg ram
aureal vortex2 10 chipset.  using the 1.2 drivers (OSS) available at: 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/aureal/
xfree86 4.03
sdl 1.2
kernel 2.4.3

sometimes when I play mp3s the sound will clip just the slightest bit
when I am doing complicated things like compiling code, so maybe this is
more related to my sound card driver.

the cpu usage seems ok, it never hits 100%

i have compiled with AUDIO_SELECT defined and undefined with no
difference
