[Mplayer-users] Install linux mplayer as 'not-root' ??

However:

lgb at oxygene:~/src/MPlayer-dev/main$ grep prefix Makefile
prefix = /usr/local
BINDIR = ${prefix}/bin
        install -D -m 644 DOCS/mplayer.1 $(prefix)/man/man1/mplayer.1
lgb at oxygene:~/src/MPlayer-dev/main$ grep prefix configure
[no output]

And even with prefix you should select another location for DLL codecs
directory instead of /usr/lib/win32 if you haven't got root access to
install mplayer.
