[Mplayer-users] Couldn't open required DirectShow codec

Hi Everybody,

I am having problems playing avi's (all of them, not just divx). First 
my setup:

RH7.1, gcc 2.95.3, XFree86 4.0.3, nvidia driver, MPlayer 0.18pre5 and 
w32codec-0.18 on an Athlon 700, Riva TNT2

I always get the following output:

Maybe you forget to upgrade your win32 codecs?? It's time to download 
the new
package from:  ftp://thot.banki.hu/esp-team/linux/MPlayer/w32codec.zip  !
Or you should disable DShow support: make distclean;make -f Makefile.No-DS
FATAL: Couldn't initialize video codec :(


Does anybody have any idea what I should do?
