[Mplayer-users] Mplayer compile question

Hi all, 
I compiled and installed Mplayer (from 26.8.2001),  but after start 
Mplayer writes approx.
" Option -alsa has been removed, new ....." 
and ends immediately, without another message. Compilation and 
installation went seemingly OK. Did anybody encounter this problem,
or do you know, how to solve this problem?
