[MPlayer-users] incredibly slow... why ?

Hi, 

I compiled Mplayer cvs from today, but the playback is incredibly slow, 
whether using x11, xv, dga, sdl or dxr3 plugins.
 
I run debian sid (kernel 2.4.16) on abit kt7a, duron 650, 512Mo Ram, nvidia 
geforce2mx400.
ogle, xine, and vlc run usually smoothly, but mplayer always tells me my 
system is too slow. 

Any clue ?
