I just noticed you're trying to compile version 0.50. Please download
the latest snapshot from CVS instead and I'm sure you will have more
luck. The latest snapshot can be found at:

http://mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/cvs/MPlayer-current.tar.bz2

Report back if you still have problems and cannot find them described in
the documentation under DOCS/.
