Here is the output of the 'make test' of a fresh compiled (gcc version 2.95.3
20010315 (SuSE)) lame 3.89:
________________________________________________________
time frontend/lame --nores -h ./testcase.wav testcase.new.mp3 || rm -f
testcase.new.mp3
LAME version 3.89 (beta 1, Dec 18 2001) (http://www.mp3dev.org/)
Using polyphase lowpass filter, transition band: 15115 Hz - 15648 Hz
Encoding ./testcase.wav to testcase.new.mp3
Encoding as 44.1 kHz 128 kbps j-stereo MPEG-1 Layer III (11x) qval=2
    Frame | CPU time/estim | REAL time/estim | play/CPU | ETA
    21/23 (91%)| 0:00/ 0:00| 0:00/ 0:00| 3.2269x| 0:00
average: 128.0 kbps LR: 4 (17.39%) MS: 19 (82.61%)

real 0m0.555s
user 0m0.170s
sys 0m0.030s
cmp -l testcase.new.mp3 ./testcase.mp3 | wc -l
    415
________________________________________________________

And still these messages while encoding:
head_check failed A-V:-172.134 oAV:-172.088 diff: -0.000 ct: -0.046 vpc:
-0.046

So I don't think lame is the problem. I'd rather think I miss some lib to
actualy grab the audio on the DVD to convert it then with lame.

But, if the audio track is not grabed with mencoder, why do I have no
problems at all to read the DVD with MPlayer.

I am missing something here altough I am so near to encode my first divx on
linux.

And I'd realy like to do it with mencoder :)

So, what libs are mandatory for mencoder?

Thanks and regards,
