ati mach64 ... no card its on board, and it crashes my xserver too sooner or 
later if i use xv or sdl (gatos drivers)

btw i did not say that i tested it with xv, i just checked if the file 
mencoder created is ok, as it appeared to me that there might be a problem 
with the scaling in mencoder, as the post was not competly clear if the 
mencoder output problem was xv related or not
