I thought same. But mplayer shows miracles of slowing down :(
If I will disable 'framedrop=yes' I'll get A-V resync with large avis :(

Well, I tried but this option does nothing for this situation and I got the same
dramatical slowdown of playback speed.
May be mplayer's output will tell you something:
