Bad idea.
1, native codecs are usual slow (at least before you optimize them :))
2, ffmpeg code is very experimental, and maybe buggy yet. and it doesn't
   support postprocesisng yet.

Because they are faster. Yes, for mp3lib you're right, but AFAIK for
mp3 the mp3lib codec is already the first.

Do it again. I've found many using your great Biew ;)

Never say never except if you are sure ever.
users has the ability to change order of codecs, or simply force using
a single codec with -afm and -nodshow options.
and if they changed order, they will be used.

hmm. check the codec pack from the ftp.
mine is from the original divx3.11 codec .zip
(it's the commercial one, the "demo" version in win98 is maybe unoptimized)
but i'll check again for sse code.
