As you might no l3codec is the mpeg1 layer 3 implementation by the
Fraunhofer IIS labs, which developed mpeg 1 layer 3, so that's why
it's a nice sample implementation (this does not mean it's fastest,
only means this should be standard implementation, which can also be
used to check output of other mpg1l3 decoders, nothing more, nothing
less).

don't understand what you want to say, I just mean I thought from the
beginning that it's better to use mplayer and disable win32 stuff,
then to step back to mpg12play, but think it was chosen due to easier
portability or smaller codebase.
