i had the opposite problem with 0.18pre5 - just running configure && make
produced a binary with only fbdev, png, null, odivx, pgm and md5 output
drivers. when i forced it (--enable-blah) to build with xv, x11, dga and sdl
it compiled fine and all of them work.

interesting part was that the first time configure detected that i have
all the dependencies (x11, sdl, etc). only the binary had no output drivers
for them.
