[Mplayer-users] MTRR settings for TNT2, use auto-added values?

Hi folks,

I've been told the binary drivers from NVidia should automatically set up
correct MTRR settings for me, is this correct? The /proc/mtrr settings that
have been automatically configured for my 32 meg TNT2 card are:

reg00: base=0x00000000 (   0MB), size= 128MB: write-back, count=1
reg01: base=0xe0000000 (3584MB), size=  64MB: write-combining, count=1
reg02: base=0xe6000000 (3680MB), size=  32MB: write-combining, count=1

This differs a bit from the MTRR instructions as shipped with mplayer. For
an example, the reg0{0,1,2}: part isn't in those instructions. Also, the
memory size is specified in MB for me while the docs says they should be in
hex. Should I keep it the way it was automatically configured or should I
modify it? I'm loosing frames on high-res DivX movies with my PIII 550 and
I'm trying to find a way to fix it without buying a new processor.

lspci -v shows:

Memory at e4000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
Memory at e6000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=32M]

Is only the second one relevant when specifying MTRR?
