At first - thanks to the authors of MPlayer - great work !
I am using mplayer for some weeks and it is real fun watching
program become better with every snapshot .
But there are some problems :
my configuaration
Slakware 7.0
kernel 2.4.4-ac9
libc-2.1.2
Xfree 4.0.3
gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)
GNU ld version 2.9.5 (with BFD 2.9.5.0.24)
GNU assembler 2.9.5
MB Asus TX97-E
AMD-K6 400 MHz ,stepping : 12 ,
TSENG ET6000 2 MB ram
SB 16 VIBRA ISA PNP - drivers from kernel ( OSS)
PROBLEMS :
1. In latest 3-4 snapshots wm option stop working for me .
I am using XFree4.0.3 in 1024x768 16 bpp mode -
- playing .avi 640x200 with -vo x11 -vm not switching
to 640x4xx
Some snapshots earlier it was working OK
2. DGA
Playing .avi with -vo dga -vm switch screen to 640x4xx
but
after quit mplayer brings not back the starting resolution -
I have to
switch it manualy with CTL+ALT+GRAY-
3. Sound problem
I have found very little .avi that can be played on my
system without
sound problems.
With older sound code the sound was .... errr how to say that ?
Look like sound played in small 'packets' with the start of new
packet
overlaping end of previous packet - sound was 'jumping' and
cutting
fragments of words
With new code - there is something completly different :))
The sound and video and ok - but there is no sync
Sound plays faster :
A: 2.7 ( 1.2) V: 1.2 A-V: 0.066 ct: 0.070 37 33% 33%
5.3%
.
.
A: 11.1 ( 9.6) V: 7.9 A-V: 1.705 ct: 0.747 240 43% 32%
7.2%
I'd be very grateful for any coments/sugestions .
Marek
BTW - last snapshot was 16.05. - there is no new snapshot on
sourceforge ?
