[MPlayer-users] VCD - problems

no, I'm not sure. It can be. 
The guy from who i got the CDs, he plays them with a desk-DVD player, which knows VCD format as well.
Are these the symptoms for trying to play a miniDVD with mplayer -vcd (bad video-output, squealing next to the normal voice)?
