Actually I do not know, but here is another way to play dvds:

You should download libdvdread, and compile mplayer with
dvdread support, then you no longer need the dvdauth option.

libdvdread is part of Debian Sid distribution, but the source also
can be downloaded from huh. anybody knows from where?
