Thx for your immediate answer.
Gonna try gatos now. Hadn't before cause I thought it would be enough to have 
'xvinfo' show YUY2 YV12 etc to have efficient conversion. Thx for your 
clearance.

BTW: Would this make a valuable entry in the FAQ? We can't expect all newbies 
to monitor months of mailinglist traffic...
