Hello ${all}! I'm new on this list so I may ask questions that you've
already solved (I checked in the archives but..)

I use Mplayer since 0.18 and I never had problem for watching DivX or
ASF files (thansk to developpers, I'ts really good programmed, I never
have such performances even under Win2K on the same box ;-) ). With
0.18, I had the chance to watcth DVDs with libcss patch, until I
upgraded my laptop's distribution from SuSE 6.4 to SuSE 7.2 and my
kernel from 2.4.0pre11 to 2.4.1. I wondered if it was due to some libs
or kernel incudes and today I installed Mplayer 0.5 with libdvdcss and
libdvdread. I'm with the same problem, on my Compaq Presario1685 laptop
and on a desktop AMD Athlon 1Ghz with SuSE 7.2 (standard install, kernel
righ-out-of-the-box):

I use zone2 DVDs (I tested with 'The Right Stuff" encrypted &
"Patlabor2" unencrypted) and this is the output of the crash of mplayer:

ranma at UKYOU:/opt/MPlayer0.5 > mplayer -dvd 2

MPlayer 0.50pre-1(C) 2000-2001 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS!)

I had the same crash with 0.18... If you need some libs versions or
other info, ask me.
ASF & DivX still works but I'll be happy to watch my DVDs...no more
need of Win2K here ;-)

Thank you for your help and for your job!
