in docs I can read:

Encoding multiple *.vob files :
    cat *.vob | mencoder <options> -

it is NOT written here, that that is NOT capable of avi files.
(and it is NOT writen here, that it is CAPABLE of encoding multiple mpeg
files..)

so it is NOT clearly writtenm in the docs.. or I miss some other place?
