Hi!

This is already working.
Use dvgrab (format 2) to get the video on your hd.
Then you can encode it (-nobps switch).

What about Mini DV support in mplayer?
(
 Mini DV format support (i.e. provided via/by transcode program)
 and
 ieee1394 (i.e. provided via libraw1394)
)

It would be very interesting to use mplayer to play Mini DV films from
my video camera and to use mencoder to encode them in divx! :)
