ok, i've searched...
i thought you got only audio/video buffer overflow... nope.
you got:
Internal buffer inconsistency. flushbits <> ResvSizeInternal buffer inconsis
so it mean (100% sure) that your libmp3lame is broken.
(this message is printed by libmp3lame, not by mencoder, and libmp3lame stop
working after printing this, so sooner-or-later mencoder will fail due to
audio codec buffering problem)
it's either compiled with bad compiler, bad options or simply bad version,
or even possible that your dvd exploited an unknown bug in it...
dump the audio stream, and encode with the commandline mp3lame, if you get
the same error, report it to the mp3lame authors.
if not, then use -audiofile and multiplex audio form the externally encoded
mp3 file... (workaround)
again: it is not mencoder fault. it is libmp3lame fault, maybe triggered by
some settings from mencoder or your audio stream...
