[MPlayer-users] need help

[Technical Operations]

Hello all, i really want to see what mplayer can do. I am using SuSE 8.0, 
intel P3, ...etc. etc.

Mplayer compiled and installed fine, but when i try to run it it fails to 
start and i get this error message.

Xlib: connectoin to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

vo: couldn't open the X11 display (:0.0)!
MPlayer GUI requires X11!

.
Exiting... (End of File)

I did the ./configure --enable-gui    option, i never saw a complaint about 
X11.
I have the fonts installed, and the skin,...i have tried with -vo x11, -vo xv 
, and without -vo altogether

please help!
