[MPlayer-users] problem with gui in v0.90pre6

hey all,

here's the deal: i can play files just fine in command-line mode, but when
i try to play any video files in gui mode, it pops up an error saying it
couldn't initialize the selected video_out device.  in the terminal which
i used to start mplayer it reads: "no such device, couldn't open mga_vid."

in both command-line and gui mode i specify "-vo xv."  also, i have an ati
rage 128 vid card, not a matrox.
