[MPlayer-users] compiling question

I guess my first email got filtered out because I used the wrong "word"

My question is: I just installed gcc 2.95.3 since after reading the
users_against_developers.html, I found out that it will not compile with
the compiler that came with my distribution of linux. I tried running
./configure --help to see if there is an option to tell it to use a
different version of compiler but I couldn't find any. How to I tell
configure to use gcc 2.95.3 instead?
