[MPlayer-users] Sound sync problems with mencoder 0.90pre6

Hey all,

I have been capturing movies from tv (ntsc) using vcr. Earlier releases
haven't had a problem with audio sync, however with pre6, the sound
drifts farther behind during the course of the movie. The steps I take
to record a movie are:

o Capture using vcr with the DivX5.0 codec and mp3 sound (having
    recently switched to) this codec because DivX ;-) Low Motion only
    allowed me to record about 2 hr 10 minutes of video).
o  Create/correct the indexing using
            mencoder -idx foo.avi -ovc copy -oac copy -o foo-cf.avi
o  Remove commercials using avidemux

At this point, sound is still in sync. However the movie is still
interlaced. To deinterlace and create the final version, I use

mencoder foo-cf.avi -ovc frameno -oac copy -o frameno.avi
mencoder foo-cf.avi -ovc -ovc lavc -lavcopts \
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=${bitrate}:vhq:vqmin=1:vqmax=31:vpass=1 -npp lb \
-oac copy -o bar.avi
mencoder foo-cf.avi -ovc -ovc lavc -lavcopts \
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=${bitrate}:vhq:vqmin=1:vqmax=31:vpass=2 -npp lb \
-oac copy -o bar.avi

The sound in bar.avi tends to drift out of sync. When using DivX ;-) Low
Motion and earlier versions of mplayer, I had no problems.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
