did you try without cache?

i can't reproduce.
even with gui the mem usage is constant.

i said that playing multiple files is buggy and may leak memory, due
to missing uninit of many codecs.
go back to the original problem - playing one big file keeps increasing
memory usage.

or playing a 2 hour long avi for 5 minutes?

i still want to see your mplayer -v [options] [filename] output while
reproducing this memleak problem. that log contains everything we want to
see - actually the options you use and their actual result, along
video and other parameters. no one is interested in your binaries and
configfiles.

i can't see this. it is constant until i stop the playback. then it goes
lower, sometimes not so low as before the playback, due to codec uninit
problems (it is known and can't/won't be fixed), but it does NOT increase
while playing.
