watch the first lines when running mplayer in console:

mplayer 2>&1 |head -n 10

i have:
MPlayer CVS-020825-17:09-3.2 (C) 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS!)

no real version, but the cvs date of when i grabbed it, and the gcc
version i used to compile it
