thought the alsa9 ao driver from mplayer is better but movies don't play 
smooth with alsa9 too :-(
but back to my question don't you have any tips for better movie playback ?
i tried to play a movie as root with nice --20 and it worked !  but this isn't 
a real solution isn't it ??
