[MPlayer-users] fbdev video output problem on PPC machine with Radeon Mobility 7500

Hi,

I'm trying to use the 'fbdev' video output module with MPlayer on a new
(November 2002) iBook with an ATI Radeon 7500 graphics card. I'm using
XFree86 4.2.1 with the fbdev driver, with a 32 bpp frame buffer at 24 bpp
color depth.
While this works OK, as soon as MPlayer exits, the colors of the screen
are garbled: it's as if it was a paletted display with most of the palette
filled with black, with hints of purple here and there.
Switching to a virtual console, then back to the X server fixes the colors
but this quickly gets very tiresome.

Any ideas?
