there are no restrictions at all. each streams in AVI have its own
independent header describing bitrate, fps, speed, etc.
you can put up to 100 streams to an .avi file, even multiple video, the
problem is that only linux players can handle it :)
(most (win) players assume 1 audio and 1 video streams, and don't even try
to handle more, although the fileformat allows it)

upload sample, maybe problem in the muxer or bug in the demuxer.
