I think the cleanest solution is to give aspect ratio hints to the
window manager, which can be done very easily :) I attached
a patch against 90rc1 which does just that.
Unfortunately, not every window manager understand aspect ratio
hints... I tested it with twm and it works, but it doesn't with the kde
window manager. I think kwin should be fixed to support this feature.
