It does NOT conflict. I do have a G400 and I can confirm this.

short for  WithOut  X

It's faster because you don't need X at all (you can stay
in command line and save X overhead).

Otherwise you can _also_ use mga_vid with X, use -vo xmga
and then you can compare yourself.
