yes, that means that -ao sdl doesn't support arts...
he simply waits til arts leaves, and uses oss ( /dev/dsp )..

you can:
1. killall artsd, and use -vo oss
or
2. use -ao arts

3. buy a soundcard which enables more applications to use /dev/dsp
(like sb-live)... i know, i know, money..
