Well...I hate startup/windows opening/closing/switching/etc. sounds. But 
I like, when terminals beeps and other 'warnig/error' sound go to my 
headphones,  instead of going to speaker and worrying all surrounding 
people... I like to get all such sound from all programs during  all 
time, not depending of is the re MPlayer/xmms running, or not.
